Change of Plans

In the adoption world, there are many ups and downs along the process.  Some people are not good with changes and every delay in the process brings about panic and heartache.  With Jason and I starting the process again, we knew our timing and plans are not HIS timing and plans.

Change #1 in the adoption process:  I worked on our homestudy paperwork in record time and we finished our homestudy in 4 weeks.  Wow!  In the DRC program, you have to have the homestudy complete and an I600A from the US government stating you can adopt before you receive an official referral.  We had inquired about a particular little boy on our agency's waiting child list when we started the process.  We were drawn to him and in a sense he was part of our family.  The kids talked about him by name.  We continued to pray that this little boy would find his family and if it was us - wonderful.  Over the weekend, we looked on the waiting child list and noticed that his picture was no longer there.  We both thought maybe because we had inquired about him that is why they took his picture down.  We found out on Monday morning that he found his "forever family."  To be honest, my heart sank a little knowing that he would not be a part of our family, but excited that he was going home.  We had prayed for him and the Lord answered our prayers.  The Lord's plans are PERFECT for that little boy and our family.

Now, we are waiting on the government to assign us a fingerprinting date to move forward with our dossier.  Once the dossier is done, we can accept the referral of a little boy that the Lord has for our family.  We have been given information about 2 little boys (3-7 years old) through our agency's waiting child list that are in need of a family.  Our prayer is that we will continue to be obedient to the Lord's calling on our lives by bringing our son home.  :)
